Street Choirs Festival 2019

The 2019 Street Choirs Festival will run from Friday 12th July until Sunday 14th July in Manchester and is organised by Manchester Community Choir. More detailed information about the event can be found on the Festival website and on Facebook.

Festival venue

The Festival will be based at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Registration

Red Leicester has now registered as a choir for SCF 2019.

Online individual singer registration is now closed. If you wish to register at this late stage, please contact the organisers direct at info@streetchoirs.orgIndividual registration costs £40 plus £1.95 admin. fee (there are a number of free registration places for anyone on means-tested benefits for which they can apply in confidence by emailing support@streetchoirs.org). You can also order Friday night concert tickets, T-shirts and Sunday picnics whilst registering.

Once you have registered individually, you will be able to access the Singers area of the website to find out about other registered choirs, learning resources, including the Massed Sing songs, timings of the festival, mobility/access advice, homestay details and other useful information.

Sunday Workshop Registration

Sunday workshop registration is now open. You will need to go to the Singers area of the website to find a list of these from which you can make your choices. There are 15 to choose from (including singing, dancing, circus skills, walking tours etc.) each running twice at 9.30 and 11.15 am.

Accommodation

Manchester Community Choir has reserved rooms in student accommodation run by Liberty Living very close to the RNCM. These include a range of single and double rooms, all with en suite facilities and self-catering kitchens in 4-6 person units. Prices start at £50-£75 per person per night. There will also be a limited number of places available in Manchester Community Choir members’ homes. If you are interested in this option, you can register your interest here.

Saturday Concert songs

We will be singing at 9.30 pm in the Theatre (there are two parallel concert venues). Our songs are: Lives In The Balance and PET (Plastic Bottles).
